In his last position Norbert Hoffmann was head of the business divisions "Group IT Strategy and Architecture" and "IT Development Finance, Investment and Risk" with the financial services provider Swiss Life. Other career stops were management functions with the UBS and the information technology company Unisys. Hoffmann is additionally a member of the Executive Board of the Swiss IT Leadership Forum.
Norbert Hoffmann concluded his basic education by graduating from the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, Germany, with a Master's Degree in Computer Science. This was followed by a range of internal and external management training courses, including post-graduate studies at the IMD in Lausanne and at the Harvard Business School.
Norbert Hoffmann will take up his position as Head of Alpiq Corporate IT on 4 January 2011. He is the successor to Adalbert Gebhart, who will be retiring early at the same time.
