OKThe Board of Directors of Alpiq Holding Ltd. has appointed Luca Baroni (49) as the new CFO of the Alpiq Group. The business economist with an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen has been CFO, member of the Executive Board, and Head of Management Services at BLS AG in Berne since 2017. From 2005 to 2016, he was CFO and a member of the Executive Board of Swissgrid AG, first as Head of Finance and Accounting and most recently as Head of Corporate Services. Before this, the dual citizen of Switzerland and Italy worked for Energiedienst Holding AG, the Watt Group and the Federation of Migros Cooperatives.
Antje Kanngiesser, CEO of Alpiq Holding Ltd., is convinced: “With his experience and personality, Luca Baroni will be an ideal addition to Alpiq. In collaboration with our colleagues, we will actively shape the future of our company. Over the next few years, we will apply our focused strategy to create value: for our customers and our company, for the climate and for the security of supply in Switzerland and in Europe.”

Alpiq will communicate the date of CFO Thomas Bucher’s departure in due course. As of 1 November 2021 at the latest, Alpiq’s Executive Board will be constituted as follows: Antje Kanngiesser (CEO), Luca Baroni (CFO), Michael Wider (Head of the Generation Switzerland business division), Matthias Zwicky (Head of the Generation International business division) and Michel Kolly (Head of the Digital & Commerce business division).
