Driving without causing emissions is becoming increasingly important in everyday life. For customers, Juicar makes the transition to e-mobility simple, suitable for everyday use and user-friendly. The full-service package fulfils all the requirements for convenient e-mobility: from an electric car right on the customer’s doorstep to a home charging station, public charging, motor vehicle tax, insurance and the settlement of the electricity costs. The customer can configure the desired mobility package online, subscribe to it at a monthly flat rate and cancel it at any time without taking any financial risk. The administration for the entire package is carried out by Alpiq. Thanks to the cooperation with BMW (Schweiz) AG, customers in Switzerland receive the BMW i3 model. Partnerships with other car manufacturers are currently being pursued.
The pilot phase of Juicar with selected customers in Germany at the beginning of the year was a success. By the end of 2018, the offer is to be progressively rolled out to the whole of Germany and subsequently to other European countries. Alpiq E-Mobility has been offering the flexible subscription model with strategic partners in the German-speaking part of Switzerland since the beginning of July.
Solutions for the digital customer requirements of the day after tomorrow
Juicar (Juice+Car) was developed by Alpiq’s Zurich-based think tank Oyster Lab. With an international team, the lab researches pioneering energy services for end customers throughout the European market. The lab sees itself as a “cleantech incubator” and serves as a breeding ground for the successful development and spin-off of start-ups with a focus on sustainability.
Electromobility: Growth market with potential
With its leading position, Alpiq is exploiting the potential of e-mobility. In its home market in Switzerland, Alpiq is the number one in the field of infrastructure for electromobility and cooperates with leading car manufacturers. Among other projects, Alpiq has successfully implemented the electrification of the Grand Tour of Switzerland and the infrastructure for the electrically powered vehicle fleet of the building insurance company Gebäudeversicherung Bern. Another milestone was the collaboration with the Swiss Federal Railways for the Mobility-as-a-Service package SBB Green Class. Recently, together with partners, Alpiq commissioned Switzerland’s first high-power charging station.
Alpiq will continue to expand its portfolio as a provider of solutions and digital mobility services in Europe.
