Multi-phase process leading to company's foundation
Alpiq Energy SE is a member of the Alpiq Central Europe Group, which covers most of Alpiq's power generating capacities in Central and Eastern Europe. The foundation of Alpiq Energy SE was preceded by a multi-phase process. The first step to implement the new structure was the merger of Czech, Slovakian and Austrian companies Atel Česká Republika s.r.o., Atel Slovensko s.r.o. and Atel Austria GmbH to create Alpiq Energy SE, which came into force on 1 January 2010. The second milestone was reached when Alpiq Energia Magyarország Kft. of Hungary and Atel Polska Sp. z o.o. of Poland were merged with Alpiq Energy SE on 1 December 2010.
