Markus Brokhof (47) is moving from Axpo to Alpiq. Brokhof has been the Head of Gas Supply & South East Europe and a member of the Executive Board at Axpo Trading AG since 2008. He began his professional career as a manager for marketing and contract administration at KCA Deutag. At WINGAS he worked in the area of natural gas trading in the European market. In 2003, he moved to Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft Laufenburg AG as the Area Manager for the Middle East and North Africa, and was responsible for developing the natural gas business. In addition, he took over management of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline natural gas project. In his current role, he established the gas and power business in Southern Europe for Axpo. Markus Brokhof studied mining at Clausthal University of Technology and specialised in the areas of nuclear waste disposal and new renewable energies.
